Prof. Habil. Ph.D. Eng. Florin BODE

CEO and Founder

Prof. Ph.D. Eng. Florin BODE graduated as a Mechanical Engineer in 2004 and earned his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering in 2010. He is currently Full Professor at the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca and Director of the AtFlow Research Center, specializing in Thermal Engineering, Energy Efficiency, Fluid Dynamics, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Numerical Simulation, Ventilation, and Personalized Ventilation Systems.

From 2011 to 2013, he held a post-doctoral research fellowship at the Technical University of Civil Engineering Bucharest, where he developed innovative ventilation diffusers for automotive and building applications (PN-II-RU-PD-2011-3-0099).

His research focuses on heat and mass transfer, indoor air quality, thermal comfort, fire dynamics, evacuation of smoke and hot gases, and the use of advanced CFD techniques for simulating fluid flow and optimizing energy systems.

Prof. Bode has authored over 170 scientific articles, including more than 45 Web of Science-indexed papers with Impact factor (~30 as lead author) and 130+ SCOPUS-indexed papers. He has also published 3 books as lead author and contributed to 4 co-authored books. As a Principal Investigator, he has led 6 national research grants, participated in 4 Horizon 2020 projects, and managed 7 research contracts with industry partners.

He is a recognized reviewer for 30+ high-impact journals, including Building and Environment, Energy and Buildings, and International Journal of Heat and Mass Transfer with more than 120 peer-reviewed papers reviewed.

Prof. Bode has served on the Organizing and Scientific Committees of numerous international conferences, including EENVIRO (2013–2024), PEPM, and COBEE, and was the President of EENVIRO 2022 and 2024 conferences.

Member in IAQVEC Association, Indoor Air Quality, Ventilation and Energy Conservation in Buildings Association (2023-present), Member of Association of Building Services Engineers in Romania, Member of Association of Refrigeration and Cryogenists of Romania, Member of Romanian Society of Thermotechnicians, Member of the Romanian Association of Security Technics.

Member of the national body of experts from the National Register of Experts for the certification of the research-development activity. The field of intelligent specialization at the national level: 3. Energy and mobility.

With over 20 years of experience in CFD numerical simulations and 15+ years in energy efficiency research, Prof. Bode is an expert in thermal engineering solutions for sustainable buildings and industrial applications.

Drd. Ing. Titus Otniel JOLDOS

Co-Founder

Drd. Ing. Titus Otniel JOLDOS graduadet as a Mechanical Engineer in 2019. At the moment he is a part time Assistent at Tehnical Univeristy of Cluj-Napoca and a full time Aerodinamycal Specialist, specialized in Turbomachinery, Fluid Dinamycs, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), and a strong backgroundt as a CAD/CAM Mechanical Design Engineer.

With over 10 years of experience in 3D mechanical design, he has consistently transformed complex ideas into manufacturable and efficient engineering solutions. His activity covers a wide range of applications, always combining technical accuracy with innovation and attention to detail.

He brings more than 7 years of hands-on expertise in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), using advanced simulation tools to analyze and optimize fluid flow, heat transfer, and aerodynamic performance in both industrial and research contexts.

In the area of ventilation and thermal comfort, he has taken part in and led projects ranging from residential systems to automotive applications. His work focuses on improving airflow efficiency and ensuring high levels of thermal comfort through sustainable and well-integrated design approaches.

He is also experienced in heat recovery and climatization, developing energy-efficient systems that help reduce energy waste and enhance environmental performance in both industrial and commercial environments.

As an aerodynamics specialist, he is involved in the development of high-performance solutions for various sectors, including industrial applications and motorsport. His work focuses on shape optimization and system integration to reduce drag and maximize overall efficiency.

He has also been responsible for the testing and validation of HVAC components and systems, coordinating several laboratory departments to ensure that all designs are validated under realistic conditions. His approach ensures that simulations are backed by experimental accuracy.

Currently, he is completing his PhD in turbomachinery, with research focused on advanced optimization techniques for rotating machinery. His work contributes to innovation in energy systems, aerospace engineering, and the development of high-performance fluid transport equipment.
